MotorEasy Headlines What Car? Car of the Year Awards for Sixth Year as ‘My What Car?’ Launches
IM Connect is set to power My What Car? a new car ownership platform developed in collaboration with the UK's leading consumer car buying brand
Posted on Jan 21, 2026
21 January 2026 – MotorEasy has returned as proud headline partner of the prestigious What Car? Car of the Year Awards for the sixth consecutive year, once again shining a spotlight on excellence across the automotive industry.
This year’s awards also coincide with an announcement on the forthcoming launch of My What Car?, an exciting new collaboration between What Car? and Intelligent Motoring, the parent company of MotorEasy.
Launching to consumers in February, My What Car? will combine What Car?’s trusted editorial expertise and extensive data with a suite of digital tools, products and services powered by Intelligent Motoring’s IM Connect technology platform.
Designed as a one-stop shop for motorists, the service will offer a wide range of ownership support, from MOT, tax and servicing reminders to vehicle recall alerts and guidance on ULEZ and Clean Air Zone charges. It also includes a secure digital space for subscribers to store vehicle documentation, including synced workshop receipts and service records where garages have been booked through the platform.
Developed collaboratively by What Car? and Intelligent Motoring, the service has been shaped by extensive customer insight to prioritise the features and suppliers that matter most to everyday drivers. This includes insights from the thousands of car owners who have completed the annual What Car? Reliability Survey.
Alongside MotorEasy’s own car ownership and protection solutions, the platform features products and services from a wide range of partners across all key ownership categories, including breakdown, insurance, warranty, servicing, maintenance and repair.

Duncan McClure Fisher, CEO of Intelligent Motoring, said:
“What Car? has been the UK’s leading car-buying advice brand for more than 50 years, and its Car of the Year Awards are the most influential accolades in the automotive industry.
“The launch of My What Car? builds on the capabilities of our IM Connect platform, enabling What Car? to extend the support it provides to car owners, while opening up new opportunities to commercialise the ownership cycle through timely, contextual partner services.
“By combining What Car?’s authority with Intelligent Motoring’s technology, we’ve created a platform that helps redefine car ownership—making it simpler for drivers to manage, protect and keep their cars safely on the road.”
Rachael Prasher, managing director, Haymarket Automotive said: “Car ownership is complex. From choosing the right car and securing the best deal to managing costs, maintenance, and knowing when to sell, motorists face a fragmented and often confusing experience.
“My What Car? is a personalised, all-in-one platform combining Intelligent Motoring market-leading technology and What Car?’s trusted expertise, to give motorists data and tools to help them save time, money and hassle at every stage of car ownership.
“What Car? is built on more than 50 years of experience from one of the UK’s most trusted consumer brands. Our new service offers all-in-one convenience, with every tool, service, and insight in a single, seamless platform that is personalised with smarter recommendations, tailored reminders, and exclusive benefits.”
